A Survalienne for life

Whatever we aspire to, or achieve, for Surval girls through the generations, what we hope for above all is that they will remember Surval with great fondness, for the learning, the family, the friends and above all the fun they experienced during their time with us.

When girls leave Surval they become members of a wider alumnae community, those friends for life who make up an invaluable network of independent, thoughtful young women whose influence will reach across the globe. Girls will have grown up from the age of thirteen with students of every nationality, and will have developed understanding and friendships in almost every continent. Any girl who ever attended Surval is a Survalienne and Surval girl. Our alumnae network consists of many interesting and inspiring women who have gone on to have exciting adventures, careers and lives. They come from different countries, cultures and backgrounds, but have one thing in common; the time spent at Surval has helped shape their future in whichever path they may have taken.

Surval holds alumnae events around the world throughout the year so that our alumnae can reunite with friends and stay connected with the school. Our Survaliennes are also profiled in the bi-annual alumnae newsletter, and on this website. Our alumnae network is extremely important to Surval and a continued focus for the school. We hope all Surval girls continue to feel included in the Surval community long after they have left the school.

Judith Muller de Perez Balladare

Judith Muller de Perez Balladare

2003

Judith Muller de Perez Balladare says, "I attended Surval in 2003 specifically for the Winter program: since I was in a Panamanian school schedule this was the best time for me. I went with two friends from Panama and left with friends from all over the world.

Coming from a small country where we have to care for our security being exposed to an environment like Switzerland and specifically Montreux was liberating. We felt free but at the same time taken care of.

I really enjoyed having breakfast at the dining room with that magnificent view and great food of course!

Part of our program took place in Andermatt. There we skied every day and got a chance to interact with everyone, different cultures and backgrounds but we felt like a family. Even through time we have maintained contact thanks to social media.

Back in Panama I graduated from Law and Political Science and also from Accounting School so I am a Tax Lawyer. Currently I’m not on the work force but rather stay home with my three soon to be four kids and my husband. I enjoy writing children’s stories, cooking and running.

I recently visited Surval and I can tell you that it gets better with the years, if only I could go back. I surely want my girls to go when they reach the minimum age. "
