At Surval, students are encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and to own their voice.
How does the Surval experience positively impact the life and future opportunities of the girls who choose to study with us? Find out in the testimonial below, where our student Layla (Grade 11, Seychelles) shares her Surval story so far:
“Staying at Surval has been such an experience, waking up to the icy mountain breeze, watching the falcons fly from the 5th floor, stepping out of my comfort zone in many things, and building myself up to the person I am today.
Surval is an institution that aids in many aspects of your life, but for me, it was independence. I remember coming from the sandy desert views to the freshly snowed mountains of the French Alps, such a contrast. I have met people that I will keep in touch with hope for the rest of my life, staff that has aided me in any scenario I have been placed in, and an environment that never ceases to amaze me. I have been able to try food from around the world and learn languages thanks to our international fair. I have been to the largest underground lake in Europe. I have discovered Montreux and various places in Switzerland thanks to the freedom that I have here. I have been noticed as an individual thanks to the small classes that help me thrive in my school work which has been nothing but a blessing for me, and I have been allowed to be me, and that is one of the greatest gifts that I have ever been gifted.
Surval is a space for people to grow within themselves and out of their comfort zones; I know I have.”
