Kate MacLeod


Kate MacLeod leads the English teaching throughout the school. She gained her MA and PGDE at the University of Aberdeen and has taught at Robert Gordon’s College, one of Scotland’s top independent schools, for 7 years. As well as teaching English to all year groups, she has been a Housemistress, cultivating a sense of belonging, teamwork and leadership in all students.

She established a student-written magazine, Eclectic, which won the Periodical Publishers’ Association Scottish Schools Gold Magazine of the Year Award. Kate writes, "As a teacher, I feel fortunate to be in a profession that inspires and rewards every day. I feel very privileged to have this opportunity to bring my passion for my subject and my diverse range of extra-curricular interests, from snowboarding and downhill biking, to cinema and photography, to the truly inspirational setting of Surval Montreux: a school which has every educational, cultural and sporting prospect a teenager could dream of".
