E:

Federica Spigarelli Federica Spigarelli is the Italian and French IGCSE teacher at Surval, and offers a solid preparation for the DELF/DALF external examinations in all her courses. Federica is proud to be part of a school where the multilingual and multicultural learning environment is unique and language and intercultural education are valued.

A graduate of Roma Tre University with a degree cum laude and two scholarships, original research at Université de La Réunion, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education at University of Nottingham, Federica specializes in Foreign Literature (French and German) and Linguistics. Federica also holds a Masters in Digital Technologies for Language Teaching from the University of Nottingham. She speaks four languages and is learning Spanish. Federica believes in learning through creativity; to make students feel challenged and to gain a deep passion for learning independently through curiosity towards other cultures.

For more than ten years Federica has worked with children and teenagers affected by disabilities and those coming from socially challenged backgrounds through the CRI. She says “teaching about charity can be highly rewarding for teenagers and broaden their horizons”.

Federica chairs the student-led Charity Committee as Charities Co-Ordinator, and is committed to encourage all pupils to give and help others through local, national and international NPO charitable organisations. Federica has interests in travel, literature, photography, volleyball and art, and was awarded the international poetry competition for young authors Castello di Duino 2013.
