Yes. The programme offers flexible entry points, allowing students to join for different durations and at various stages throughout the academic year, depending on availability.

How long does the programme last?

Who is the programme designed for?

The Swiss Gap Experience is designed for young women from 16 to 19 years old seeking a meaningful and enriching period of study abroad.

Is this suitable for a gap year or gap term?

Yes. The programme is specifically designed to support both gap year and shorter-term experiences, providing structure, purpose and progression throughout.

Will students improve their language skills?

Yes. Language development is a key element of the programme, with immersive learning both inside and outside the classroom.

Do students travel on their own?

Yes, independent travel is a distinctive and carefully managed element of the Swiss Gap Experience.

In addition to a programme of curated excursions and international trips, students are given the opportunity to plan and undertake their own weekend travel within a structured and supervised framework. Clear guidelines and staff oversight ensure that students are fully supported at every stage, while still benefiting from a meaningful level of independence.

This balance allows students to develop confidence, organisational skills and a sense of responsibility, ensuring they not only experience the world, but learn how to navigate it with assurance.

Does the programme support university preparation?

Students receive guidance and support to help clarify their future academic and career pathways, ensuring they leave with direction and confidence.

What is the admissions process?

The admissions process is personal and considered, ensuring the right fit for each student.

It typically follows four key steps:

  1. Submit an initial enquiry
  2. Speak with a member of the admissions team
  3. Complete and submit an application
  4. Receive an offer and confirm enrolment
