Surval Montreux is set in a stunning hillside location just above the town of Montreux - the centre of the Montreux Riviera. About 25,000 people live in Montreux, and the city provides a safe and friendly environment for our international students. Well known for the world famous Montreux Jazz Festival, Montreux is in the French speaking part of Switzerland. It is at the centre for visiting other European cities, an opportunity much valued by older girls for their weekend trips.
Surval Montreux is a 20 minute walk from the town centre. The school minibus drives girls down to Montreux at regular intervals during the late afternoon and early evening so they can enjoy walking, cycling or roller skating along the lakeside promenade; or simply enjoy a coffee or hot chocolate with their friends in one of the many cafés. High quality shops are always an attraction, and in winter the Christmas Market provides an ideal shopping opportunity for unusual presents, as well as purpose- built cafés and restaurants, many devoted to the traditional fondue. The safety of the town itself provides peace of mind for parents, whilst the opportunity to go to Montreux or neighbouring towns gives many girls a new independence.
