Charity in Kenya

Posted on: 31st January 2014 | Category: Commitment to communities, Special events

Last night, Surval Montreux hosted two young Swiss sisters giving a presentation to our students about their charity work in Kenya. Laurie and Camille had spent a month, which they had organised and funded themselves, in a children’s play scheme for under privileged children where they taught French, led games and helped with cooking. It was a wonderful and inspiring presentation and we hope that our students will follow this example in their own volunteering.

‘The talk was really interesting to listen to; the girls are marvellous because we got to see something new and very inspirational’ Alejandra, Mexico

‘It is incredible that some people have the courage to do such amazing work. They got so close to the children and their smiles and atmosphere was touching. It was lovely to see the smiles of these children who have nothing but the Swiss people who have lots, do not smile as much. I want to do something like that.’ Elisa, Brazil
