Chocolate Train Excursion as Part of Induction Week

Posted on: 1st October 2013 | Category: Swiss adventures, Trips and excursions

Chocolate and cheese are trademarks of Switzerland, and the first ‘taste’ for most girls. The chocolate train excursions combines both, together with stunning view of Switzerland. Students catch the train from Monteux to Gruyeres, a beautiful village with a medieval castle deep in the Swiss mountains. Here students tested out the famous gruyeres cheese and a few minutes further up the mountain the Cailler chocolate.

Girls loved visiting the cheese and chocolate factories learning about the history and manufacture of both. Free tasters straight from the production line almost onto the tongue were irresistible and encouraged further buying later on. Fondue for lunch made a superb treat to round off the morning.

The chocolate train is a brilliant part of our induction week. Students and staff get to know each other in an informal situation and the day makes a great introduction to Switzerland and Surval.
