Martigny Trip

Posted on: 15th November 2013 | Category: Swiss adventures, Trips and excursions

The students of Surval recently had a day trip to Martigny exploring some fantastic cultural tourist attractions. The first place the students visited was the Foundation Gianadda. This included a grand collection of Modigliani paintings from private collections from across Europe, an impressive exhibit of the Foundation's private art collection with an antique automobile collection and a huge sculpture garden. Afterwards a picnic in a Roman Amphitheatre was enjoyed and finally the students were able to visit some very large St Bernard Dogs at the Foundation Barry with its museum dedicated to their history of aiding travellers in the mountains of Switzerland and Italy. This was a wonderful Sunday filled with variety: Swiss culture, history and art.
