St Martin - Traditional Swiss

Posted on: 12th November 2015 | Category: Swiss adventures

The whole school set off this morning in the beautiful November sunshine for an impromptu outing to Vevey. We were all there to see the 546th Foire de St Martin, celebrating the charitable act of St Martin giving up his cloak for a poor visitor to Vevey. The re-enactment was accompanied by a parade of mounted horsemen, bearded shepherds, a delightful band and a very typical farmers' market to celebrate the season's harvest. We were also able to go and see some cows, horses and sheep from the local area.

It was a truly ''Swiss Experience'' and all students thoroughly enjoyed the morning and the food.
