Sunday baking at Surval

Posted on: 21st September 2016 | Category: Boarding life, Etiquette and cookery, School Life

After a full and very enjoyable day in Geneva on Saturday, Sunday’s activity involved the girls in the Surval kitchen, under the watchful eye our own Chef Mr Chevalier, and where they produced a spectacular array of hand-baked delights.  Their tempting and tasty menu included brownies, cookies, fairy cakes and a traditional Victoria Sponge.

Working in small groups and paying close attention to the recipes, our young Chefs were able to showcase their culinary skills and proudly display their final creations, dusted with their finishing touches of icing sugar and sprinkles. It was also a lovely opportunity for the girls to work as a team, sharing out the different tasks between them, as well as great fun for everyone involved and providing a delicious afternoon tea enjoyed by girls and staff alike!
