Cultural visit to Italy

Posted on: 6th November 2013 | Category: Trips and excursions

Italy is always a popular trip, and even girls who have visited before had things to learn about the history and culture of the different towns, and the traditions and customs in each. Perhaps most impressive of all was the day in Pompeii:

For me Pompeii was the most moving place. I was standing where people had stood so many centuries ago, where the volcano destroyed everything. I did not know the history of Pompeii before and now I feel part of it. - Andrea, Dominican Republic

All the sights were remarkable: one could spend days in the Uffizi, in Sienna or in the Sistine Chapel and not grow tired.  Giovanna’s comment ‘When in Rome, we did what the Romans did’ might not be entirely accurate, but girls certainly enjoyed the fabulous food, the weather (so much better than last year!) and the spectacular views.

Finally, as Maria so aptly put it, ‘the best place to visit with friends is Rome!’

Our next trip is to Vienna at the end of the month... how will it compare?
