Visit to United Nations, Geneva

Posted on: 9th December 2015 | Category: Swiss adventures, Trips and excursions

Last Monday, the International Relations class travelled to the home of the United Nations in Europe, Le Palais des Nations, Geneva. After some rigorous security checks, the class entered the grounds of the famous home of International Relations. The girls received a guided tour of the main assembly halls including where the disarmament conference takes place. This was particularly exciting as this was the former home to the League of Nations too. The girls were particularly interested by the conference hall for Human Rights which had an impressive textured and colourful ceiling by the artist, Miquel Barcelo. Here the girls also found the desks belonging to their home countries. It was a very educational and exciting glimpse into the life of a United Nations diplomat.
