What soap is to the body, laughter is to the soul

Posted on: 6th October 2016

What soap is to the body, laughter is to the soul ... and apparently at Surval we have both!

On Sunday 25th September, an enthusiastic and curious groups of students enjoyed two workshops led by their teachers and focussed on the ancient art of soap making.

The whole creative process, which took place in the School’s kitchen, involved not only the analysis of several colour combinations and soap textures (transparent or matt), but also the technique of adding extra materials, such as flowers, in the moulds.

Every girl then took the opportunity to choose her own favourite shape of soap, selecting from butterflies, hearts, flowers, bees, ladybugs, and many more.

The result: a triumph of colours and bubbles, patterns and textures! The finishing touch, wrapping them up as personal presents for friends and relatives and of course the girls themselves. An unusual and delightful Sunday of Art and Crafts to welcome in the Autumn!
