Wheelchair Challenge

Posted on: 3rd May 2015 | Category: Boarding life, Special events

This week Foundation Year girls undertook an unusual challenge. They investigated the experience of life in a wheelchair. The project started to help a family considering the school for their daughter who is permanently confined to a wheelchair. The girls wanted to help them to see what her daily life might be like. Eva spent the day in the chair, wearing a helmet with a GoPro camera to film what she could see and what obstacles she encountered: other girls formed a team to investigate possible obstacles, to look at the time moving between classes, and most importantly recording their own observations about how people behaved towards her.
