When Faith (2021, Botswana) arrived at Surval Montreux, she brought with her a quiet determination and a bright smile. During her time here, she faced an extraordinary challenge — graduating during the height of the Covid pandemic. The only graduate to remain at school, Faith celebrated her graduation in person, while her classmates joined online — a moment that reflected both her strength and her grace.
Choosing to stay on for one more year, Faith joined Surval’s Swiss Gap Programme, embracing the opportunity to prepare for university and for life beyond Montreux. Her journey is a true testament to independence, resilience, and the enduring Survalienne spirit.
My time at Surval Montreux was one of the best and most heartfelt moments I’ve had growing up. All the professors and staff who were there gave me the chance to grow and reflect on myself as a person.
All the memories that happened to me will always be a part of my soul. One of them was with my Biology teacher, who cheered me on when I lit up a rocket bottle and it shot into the air. Another moment was when, after completing my first year at Surval, I was surprised and awarded for being the most fashionable student in school — now that was a great memory!
There were also the beautiful trips organised by the school to see all the amazing places within Europe and beyond — a few being China, Dubai, and my all-time favourite, Prague.
I have to thank Surval Montreux for shaping me into the kind of woman I wanted to become. It is thanks to them that I have taken on my culinary career journey. I would have never discovered my passion for cooking and creating recipes without them. All their classes gave me the chance to learn, and now, I have never been happier.
